Lone Star Family Health Center and Heartis Conroe named HREI Insights Award Finalists

The Caddis Partners projects were selected as Finalists in the Medical Office Buildings and Post-Acute and Senior Living categories of the prestigious national development awards

November 14, 2013 DALLAS, TEXAS — Caddis Partners LLC, a leading national healthcare real estate development firm, announced that two of its recently developed properties, Lone Star Family Health Center and Heartis Conroe, have both been selected as Finalists in the inaugural 2013 HREI Insights Awards. Lone Star Family Health Center was named as one of five finalists in the New Medical Office Buildings (MOBs) and Other Outpatient Facilities (50,000 to 99,999 square feet) category, and Heartis Conroe was named as one of four finalists in the Post-Acute & Senior Living Facilities – Best New Ground-Up Development category.

The newly announced awards, the first totally dedicated to recognizing excellence in the areas of healthcare real estate (HRE) development and executive leadership, are presented by Healthcare Real Estate Insights, a national magazine that covers HRE development, financing and investment.

“It is an honor to have our projects recognized as Finalists for the 2013 HREI Insights Awards,” Caddis Partners CEO and Partner Jason L. Signor says. “The fact that two of our projects were selected – and in two different categories – demonstrates our firm’s range of expertise in the healthcare real estate sector and across different product types.”

Heartis Conroe in Conroe, Texas, is a 40-unit, 32,600 square foot memory care community with an innovative “Main Street” concept that provides a comfortable, familiar environment to encourage residents to connect with their surroundings and others. It was developed by Caddis under its own Heartis brand and opened late this fall.

Lone Star Family Health Center, also located in Conroe, is a two-story, 70,961 square foot MOB that opened last year. It is owned by a local not-for-profit community health center which also became the teaching clinic for the Conroe Family Medicine Residency Program in 2002.

“Lone Star Family Health Center has delivered on its promise to be an invaluable asset to our region, reaching 60,000 patient visits as well as another 15,000 hospital visits per year in 2010,” says Dr. Stephen L. McKernan, CEO of Lone Star Family Health Center.

“But after moving into this new facility last year, we have been able to serve the healthcare needs of this community even more effectively. Caddis Partners provided us with an attractive, efficient, cost-effective building to house all of our services under one roof. We had a vision of a comprehensive health center that also served as an educational site, which Cadis has achieved. I am not surprised it is in the running for a national award.”

The 2013 HREI Insights Awards will be presented during the RealShare Healthcare Real Estate Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., Dec. 11.
